Surrey’s Highest Building Receives Development Permit

A new city centre landmark, Ultra by WestStone Properties, has just had its fourth reading passed by Surrey City Council and the Development Permit has been issued.

Ultra will be Surrey’s highest building and at its 40th floor will tower over Simon Fraser University, Central City and the new Surrey Civic Centre. It is Phase III of WestStone’s master-planned Urban Village community. The Development Permit is issued for 362 suites and 11 townhomes.

Upstairs, both bedrooms have access to a cozy balcony — no question this is where you’d find me hanging out on sunny summer evenings. This level is also where the laundry is intelligently placed for convenience.

On our way toward Agenda’s amenities area, Michelle and I look in on some of the other floor plans — a single-level one-bedroom and a three-bedroom that elicits a spontaneous “oh my, isn’t this huge” from both of us. Clearly there’s plenty of choice to satisfy a broad range of lifestyles.

“This is such a fantastic space,” she says as we step into the two-storey gym. No kidding. Three sides of windows, a separate yoga area, and suspended lighting that’s downright funky as well as practical.
